While some pups like to stop and smell the roses, I can’t tell you how much more fun it is to run and chase cherry blossoms instead! That’s right, I said run. With spring in full swing and summer just around the corner, I’ve been inspired to get out more and explore all the beauty this season and city has to offer. Strolling around Golden Gate Park on a sunny Saturday afternoon sparks a joy in me that can only be matched by lounging in my bed with a tasty treat between my paws on a rainy day. I know, it’s not every day you hear me talk about how I’d rather spend a day at the park instead of chillaxing at home, but when the sun peaks through the clouds on a weekend in SF I’m a smart enough pup to know that’s an opportunity one needs to take advantage of. Here are a few of my favfurite city spots to hangout at during spring time!
There are a lot of pawsome places for a pup to explore in San Francisco, but when the flowers are blooming and the birds are chirping I like to hang around some particular spots. Although dogs aren’t allowed in the Botanical Gardens in Golden Gate Park, that doesn’t stop me from strolling around the perimeter of the park and enjoying the sights and smells. My hoomans and I like to go prepared with a picnic basket filled with both hooman and dog friendly snacks, a blanket and of course all of my P.L.A.Y. essentials. After all, what’s a picnic in the park without your very own Outdoor Tent and Chill Pad? Lying in the grass while the wind blows a flower-scented breeze across my snout is a guaranteed way to give me perma-smile.
Another fun place I love exploring in the spring time is the Palace of Fine Arts. While this iconic SF landmark is always a stunner, now that the flowers have blossomed all around the pond it’s even more beautiful. Not only is this another pawsome picnic spot, it’s also a great location for a spring or summer photoshoot with family or friends. But don’t forget Fido. Be sure to grab your pup and some cute props, like your Garden Fresh or Farm Fresh toys, and have a dog friendly picnic and photoshoot! After a quick snack on the lawn I love to waddle over to the Marina Greens and make my way to the shoreline. The view of The Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz gets four paws up from me every time. With the spring winds blowing into town, you can expect to see plenty of sail boats to complete the picture-pawfect view.
