In case you can't tell from this photo, I am a cat whose needs are (mostly) satisfied. This was me receiving my morning cuddle from Mommy on Tuesday, June 2 - two days before the official National Hug Your Cat Day on June 4. That's right - I get morning cuddles. Like, every morning.
This is how the routine goes: Mondays to Fridays, I have my breakfast at 5.45am. Then I jump onto the dining table where Mommy is sitting, and she lifts me onto her lap. I stay there until she gets up to go to work. The weekend is slightly different though - I get fed whenever the parentals deign to get out of bed. Then I lurk until they get the hint and sit on the couch. That's when I leap onto their laps and pin them down so that I can have an extended nap.
Everyday is National Hug Your Cat Day in our home, and my heart is full and bursting. However, my belly remains empty and hollow. Free Hugs are nice and all, but if you ask me, Free Food has a much nicer ring to it. Don't you think?
prrrrrrrrrrrrrt,
